We’ve lost 4000 men there and have killed more than 20,000 enemy insurgents-19,000 being Al-Qaeda fighters. Iraqi forces are winning battles without us and most of Iraq is now under Iraqi, not US, control…
We’re winning the war, violence is down 83% now. Some say Bin Laden is the main target, but even if he dies, someone else will take his place. So the idea was take out the suppliers and it’s influence and you win… without a supplier or supplies (such as the taliban and Saddam’s wealth) you cannot sustain or wage the war. With no influence, the movement eventually dies out… The people of both countries were being oppressed and being indocrtinated to hate us, but now that there is democracy, we see a different story… EXAMPLE: In Iran, the government and the militias hate us, yet the people are fine with us… The Irainian government funds the movement of terrosim… The people cannot not do anything about it and if they speak out, they’re shot.
Afghanistan was very similar. Taliban was oppresing people and had 90% of the nation in their hands. They were funding and training terrorists in Al-Qaeda. There was a huge terrorist influence there as well.
Both wars are more similar (reasons) when you look at the actual facts, instead of the media spin. Afghanistan was not just about Bin Laden and Iraq was not just about Saddam and WMDs… Here are the facts, YOU DECIDE…
